Minnie Mouse Cake

This cake was for a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party. It was the first time I used a layering Cricut cartridge and I was pretty happy with the results. This cake was a banana cake with chocolate ganache filling. It was loved by both the kids and adults.

Ladybug Baby Shower Cake

I made this cake and cupcakes for a friend of a friend's babyshower today. The new mom-to-be loves red and loves ladybugs, so I made a cake that would incorporate those two elements. This has got to be one of my favorite cakes that I have made. Also, the inscription on the cake could not be more appropriate given that we are experiencing actual showers today.

Valentine's Day

A friend's husband called me and asked me to make this last-minute cake for Valentine's Day. He didn't specify any decorations that he wanted, and all my friend really cared about was having a red velvet cake, but it gave me another chance to try out some more designs with my Cricut using gumpaste.

A few more...

One of the mini cakes I made for my cousin's bridal shower.
My cousin showed me a picture from a magazine of the exact wedding cake she wanted. The only thing we changed is that she wanted square cakes, instead of round.

I made this cake in order to practice a new technique of using my Cricut machine to cut fondant and gumpaste. Obviously my attempt to cheer on the Colts fell a little short on Super Bowl Sunday.

3rd birthday cake

This cake was for my oldest son's 3rd birthday. The pirate ship is florist's foam that I carved and then covered in fondant. The trees are made of gumpaste.

1st birthday cake

This was my youngest son's first birthday cake. I went with a jungle theme and made a giraffe, monkeys and an elephant out of gumpaste. The palm trees are also out of gumpaste. The gumpaste dries rock hard, so the figures can be kept for however long you want.
