My father-in-law turned 70 this past week and to celebrate his birthday, my mother-in-law asked me to make him a special cake. He's a wine lover, so I thought this cake would be perfect for him.
I made the crate out of cake w/ fondant panels marbeled and painted to look like wood. The wine bottle was carved out of cake, which I also covered with fondant and then painted to give it the shiny appearance and better resemble a wine bottle.

?? Nothing about that looks like a cake - how is that even possible?!
