Another Round of Cakes...

This was a really fun cake to make. I used one of my son's little Lightning McQueen diecast cars as my model.

The theme for this cake was pink and gold. I made the flowers out of gumpaste and brushed them with gold lustre dust (which you can't seen in the picture), then I finished them off with gold dragees.

Sock Monkey

This cake was for a friend's son and daughter whose birthdays are close. She wanted a cake that would fit both of them, so we decided a sock monkey would do the trick. The best part is that he is edible too. He's made from Rice Krispie treats and modeling chocolate.

A Wine Lover's Birthday Cake

My father-in-law turned 70 this past week and to celebrate his birthday, my mother-in-law asked me to make him a special cake. He's a wine lover, so I thought this cake would be perfect for him.

Minnie Mouse Cake

This cake was for a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party. It was the first time I used a layering Cricut cartridge and I was pretty happy with the results. This cake was a banana cake with chocolate ganache filling. It was loved by both the kids and adults.

Ladybug Baby Shower Cake

I made this cake and cupcakes for a friend of a friend's babyshower today. The new mom-to-be loves red and loves ladybugs, so I made a cake that would incorporate those two elements. This has got to be one of my favorite cakes that I have made. Also, the inscription on the cake could not be more appropriate given that we are experiencing actual showers today.
